📍 Wooda Farm Holiday Park
Poughill, Bude, Cornwall, EX23 9HJ
Stay: Five nights from 7 July 2026
Site rating: Five stars
Our latest motorhome adventure took us to beautiful Bude in north Cornwall, where we spent five nights at Wooda Farm Holiday Park.
With a journey of almost seven hours ahead of us, we decided to drive through the night. It seemed the best way to avoid heavy traffic and arrive close to midday, when guests are allowed onto their pitches. It was a long drive, but reaching Cornwall with most of the day still ahead of us made it worthwhile.
Wooda Farm Holiday Park
Wooda Farm is advertised as a five-star holiday park and, after staying there, we completely agree with that rating.
The shower blocks were spotless, modern and clearly maintained to a very high standard. The showers were powerful, beautifully hot and exactly what you need after a long journey or a busy day exploring.
Our pitch was a generous size and included an electric hook-up and drainage, which made our stay much easier. There is also a well-stocked shop on site. The prices are a little higher than you might find in town, but it carries the usual essentials and is handy when you have forgotten an important item or don’t fancy travelling farther afield.
Food, Drinks and Entertainment
One of the best features of the park is The Mowhay, its bar and restaurant, which is around a five-to-ten-minute walk from the pitches.
It serves cocktails, hot and cold drinks, meals and snacks, making it a lovely place to unwind without having to leave the site. There is also a children’s play area nearby.
There’s no shortage of activities at Wooda Farm. Guests can enjoy badminton, tennis, tractor rides, visiting food pop-ups and even a fitness suite. Whether you want to remain active, entertain the children or simply relax with a drink, there’s plenty to choose from.
Dogs haven’t been forgotten either. One of the fields contains a large, secure dog-walking area where they can safely run off the lead. A few pieces of agility equipment are dotted around the field for any adventurous pooch who fancies showing off.
Walking into Bude

We decided to walk into Bude on our first visit. It was a pleasant way to see more of the surrounding area, but I would definitely recommend catching the bus back because the return journey is almost entirely uphill. Thankfully, the buses are dog-friendly, so your four-legged travelling companion can come along too.
Discovering Bude
Bude is a delightful seaside town on the north coast of Cornwall, close to the mouth of the River Neet, which is also known locally as the River Strat. It was once called Bude Haven and lies between Poughill, Flexbury and Widemouth Bay.
The town’s coastline faces Bude Bay and the Celtic Sea, part of the Atlantic Ocean. The water was a brilliant blue during our visit, and it was easy to see why the area is so popular with surfers.
Bude was once important as a harbour and for the sea sand that was transported inland along the Bude Canal to improve agricultural soil. The Victorians later embraced it as a seaside resort, and the arrival of the railway helped it become an increasingly popular holiday destination during the twentieth century.
Today, its harbour, canal, beaches and dramatic cliffs continue to attract visitors.
Jellyfish, Swimming and Fish and Chips
The sea looked incredibly inviting on the day we visited, but the water was filled with jellyfish, so we decided against going in for a swim.
Albi was not remotely bothered. He had the time of his life splashing through the water and cooling himself down while we stayed safely on the sand.
Later, we walked up the hill to a restaurant overlooking the bay, where we enjoyed fish and chips with a spectacular view. After a day of walking, exploring and breathing in the Cornish sea air, it was the perfect ending.
A Hidden Gem – Wildwood
While wandering around Bude, we stumbled across one of my favourite discoveries of the trip: Wildwood.

From the outside, it already hinted that this wasn’t an ordinary gift shop, but stepping through the door was like entering a colourful labyrinth of hidden treasures. Every corner revealed another surprise, from beautifully patterned quilts and embroidered cushions to handwoven baskets, driftwood sculptures, quirky ornaments and unusual home accessories.
The shop is full of colour, texture and craftsmanship, making it almost impossible not to stop and admire every display. It has the sort of atmosphere where you wander in for “just a quick look” and end up spending half an hour discovering little details you’d missed the first time around.
Even if you’re not planning to buy anything, it’s well worth visiting simply for the experience. Shops with this much character are becoming increasingly rare, and Wildwood is one of those places that leaves you smiling as you walk back out into the sunshine.
Our Verdict
We had a fantastic stay at Wooda Farm Holiday Park and thoroughly enjoyed visiting Bude. The park deserves its five-star rating, particularly for its excellent facilities, spacious pitches, dog-friendly areas and on-site restaurant.
However, five nights felt a little too long for us without another form of transport. Once you have explored Bude, your options are limited unless you are prepared to rely on buses or taxis. For future motorhome trips, we will probably spend fewer nights in one place and travel onwards more often.
Even so, Bude is well worth visiting. With its blue sea, sandy beaches, lively surf scene and striking coastal views, it gave us another memorable chapter in our motorhome adventures.
